Relationship Counseling

Relationships come in all shapes, sizes and colors, and can be a challenge. Whether it is a long term relationship, friendship, a marriage, or familial relationships, there are often points where the relationship seems to be faltering and is in need of healing. Far too often people get defensive and closed off rather than discuss their relationships openly and with understanding. Open lines of communication with willing participants are crucial in evolving relationships.

It is my goal as a relationship counselor in Naples to help you gain the tools that will aid you in repairing your relationship and rebuild it, from the ground up. My goal is to create a safe space where anything can be discussed in hopes of rebuilding. Consider getting support to help manage your issues related to:

  • Jealousy or Trust
  • Anger or Arguing
  • Communication
  • Infidelity
  • Abuse

If you feel like you are walking on eggshells, trying to “win” arguments rather than repair your relationships, or you simply have communication issues that continue to be problematic, help is available. You may be able to benefit from support, it is important to contact someone that can help relieve these struggles.

There is rarely just one side to any argument, nor is there ever one basic solution. I’ve often heard that there are actually three sides of each story (“yours, mine and the truth”). Often you need to rebuild your relationship from the ground up, creating the structure that is going to keep the entire relationship in place. Doing this alone is difficult. Everyone has their own needs, and often the perception of not having those needs met causes fighting or disagreements.

Rebuilding a Relationship is a Process

It makes sense to contact a relationship counselor. As a licensed psychologist that is experienced in relationship counseling, I know help is available – if you are ready. Psychologists are trained to work together with struggling couples to improve relationships and get them back on the right track. I know how hard it is to put your trust in someone else, and I know that it can be difficult for each participant to believe that their needs can be met.

There will need to be compromises. There will inevitably be some disagreements. Treatment helps. The goal of treatment will be to strive to provide a fair and balanced perspective. The objective is to create solutions that help the relationship heal.
